Layers of the Earth
Introduction
Welcome to the course section on 'Layers of the Earth'! As an introduction, please watch (and listen!) to the video below. It will give you some valuable information about the names and formations of these layers. You may want to watch it more than once!
The Layers
Inner Core - Center of the earth. Solid metal.
Outer Core - Molten and VERY hot. Fluid.
Lower Mantle - Hot and flowing magma. Very dense.
Upper Mantle - More solid than the lower mantle, but still flowing.
Crust - The Earth's outermost layer. It is the thinnest layer. It is also solid and mostly made of granite or basalt.
